Otto Klemperer- Volume 2; First Edition

£60.00

Product description

Otto Klemperer- Volume 2; First Edition

"This second volume of Peter Heyworth's celebrated biography follows the conductor's fortunes from his frustrating and unhappy time as an emigre in the United States to his final years with the Philharmonia Orchestra of London. Bedevilled by manic depression, his euphoric moods led to wild escapades, but finally, after many unstable years taking various engagements around the world, a recording contract with EMI and appointment to the Philharmonia brought the worldwide recognition that had so long eluded him."

This sought after biography is in excellent condition throughout, both the book and its dust jacket. There is some yellowing of the pages but they are clean and unmarked. The dust jacket has a few slight scratches and the top front has a crease from shelving. Pages 103-109 have a small crease, but other than that this copy is unblemished.
