Songs of Praise Discussed

£34.99

Product description

This is the 1952 edition of “Songs of Praise”, a book detailing the history and form of the “Best-Known” hymns. The book’s full title - “Songs of Praise Discussed: A Handbook to the Best-Known Hymns and to Others Recently Introduced”. The book was written by Percy Dearmer, and includes notes of the music by Archibald Jacob. Condition: the dust-jacket shows some moderate to heavy foxing on the outside and the inside. There is also a prominent tear the top of the dust-jacket, and a few far smaller tears in other places. Moreover, the dust-jacket has some mild shelf-wear, corner-bumping, marking, and denting. It is also price-clipped. The boards are generally in good condition, but there is a large dent at the top of the front board. The fore-edge has some moderate marking and foxing too. The ffep and rfep show some heavy foxing on both sides, but the interior pages are almost all crisp and clean with a good strong case binding.
