Songs of the Evangel

£29.99

Product description

"The song of the Evangel is the song of victory, of victory over sign and shame, over sorrow and suffering; the victory of God's redemption, which transmutes the groans of bondage and the laments of life into paeans of adoring praise.

Some of the songs in this little book perpetuate the memory of bygone years, memory of souls redeemed , trooping out of darkness into the light; others were written during days of convalescence after a long and serious illness. Some are songs of battle, of call to worldwide advance upon the forces of evil."

Composed by General Evangeline Booth, the first female General, 'Songs of the Evangel' evoke religious sentiment and combine the experiences of the General, herself, with wonderful melodies and lyrics ideal for any church service. The sheet music contained within is clearly laid out with explanations of the lyrics an added feature by Booth.

This hardback edition is in "good" condition. There are pen markings to the endpapers as signs of previous ownership as well as foxing. There are also signs of watermarking and staining to the front cover.
