Perfect and Imperfect Enjoyments: Poems

£120.00

Product description

Copy No. 276 of a limited edition of 500 copies ... on mould-made paper from the Magnani mill. Plates printed by photolithography at the Senecio Press, Charlbury, Oxon. Numbered and signed in pencil by Richard Shirley Smith who contributed the eight classical-style coloured illustrations. Hand-marbled paper covered boards with quarter dark red leather spine. The spine is quite damaged. the leather binding strip has been stained and roughened in a patch that runs in a bind from the top down to about 3" from the bottom. The darkened patch is widest at the top and narrower further down. In addition, in one place the leather has shrunk and pulled away from the marbled paper, leaving a strip about 2" in length where the underlying board is exposed. Both edges of the spine itself are affected, especially back edge and half way up front edge. Fortunately the gilt lettering is untouched and still bright. The marbled boards are clean but a little rubbed in places (with no loss of pattern). The bottom outer corners are bumped. Previous owner's name written very small at top of inside front endpaper. Inside the pages are perfect. There is no slipcase.

Oxfam Bookshop Reading

One of the largest bookshops in the Oxfam network, Reading Books has more than 5000 different titles in the shop at all times. We have unusually large sections in science fiction and fantasy, literature, history, travel, children's, business and the sciences. There is plenty of space for browsing and a couple of chairs for customers who wish to inspect books more closely. We also have a catalogue of about 1000 collectable books that are kept in the backroom, and these can be brought out for customers to view on request.
