Publisher: The King's Library, Alexander Moring, De la More Press, London, August 1903. hard cover no dust jacket. 232 pages. This edition is one of only 480 copies on hand made paper. The grey paper covered boards are somewhat worn at the edges, discoloured in places and bumped/frayed at the corners. The fawn cloth spine is a little rubbed with trace of bumping at the top and bottom. Internally the pages (which are rough cut as quite usual for the time) are in excellent condition for their age with only a little tanning at the edges of the pages, a good firm binding and no tears or creases. There is an inscription on the inside front cover. Printed legend on last page states 'This Edition of Ben Jonson's Alchemist was printed by me, Alexander Moring, at the De La More Press, 298 Regent Street, London, August MDCCCCIII'. A rare copy of this famous play from a great and popular playwright.
