The Faerie Queene - Book 1

£13.99

Product description

Subtitled as: "Edited, With Introduction, Notes and Suggestions For Study" - This book is part of the Riverside Literature Series. The book has green cloth-covered boards and spine. The front cover has the book title and author's name in black embossed script within two black embossed boxes. The front cover also displays in gold embossed characters the crest for Plymouth High School for Girls. The book was given as a prize for form work by the schoolgirl Esme Perkins as evidenced by the sticker on the front endpaper. No date is given for the awarding of the prize. The spine also shows the book title and the names of the author and the publisher in black script. The book shows no sign of bumping to the corners and very little shelf wear. The endpapers are well-glued to the boards and well-stitched to the spine. The front endpaper shows the prize award sticker. The rear endpapers (and also the previous three pages) have copious hand-written notes in pencil, presumably by Esme Perkins. The endpapers also show some signs of foxing. The pages are well-cut and show little sign of discolouration except at the page edges. There are also many pencil-written notes in the body of the text.
