The Sun My Monument: The New Hogarth Library Vol. XIII

£19.99

Product description

'The Sun My Monument' (1944) is a collection of 38 poems by Laurie Lee, best known as the author of 'Cider With Rosie'. This is his first published work.

From the cover: 'The poems of Laurie Lee have appeared in various periodicals during the past few years, and many of them have also been broadcast. They have attracted the attention of discriminating lovers of poetry for their vivid and original imagery and their freshness of lyric inspiration. This is the first collection of his work to be published.'

Used hardback book in good condition. The dust cover is quite scuffed and is split into two pieces, but the book itself is in good condition. General discolouration due to age and some light soiling. Spine is chipped but binding intact. Small inscription at the front (dated 1944) but pages otherwise clean. A nice addition to any poetry collection.
