The Works of John Dryden

£60.00

Product description

Volume 5 of 18. John Dryden (9 August 1631 – 1 May 1700) was an influential English poet, literary critic, translator, and playwright who dominated the literary life of Restoration England to such a point that the period came to be known in literary circles as the Age of Dryden. Walter Scott called him "Glorious John." He was made Poet Laureate in 1668. In very good condition, taking into account time since publication. Marble hardcover shows some some signs of wear, with some fading and bumping to spine and corners. Ex-Library sticker within front cover. Pages within are foxed towards the edges, but in good condition overall. Binding is tight. Lovely marbled foredge to compliment the boards.
