Baretti's Italian Dictionary Vols. 1 & 2

£60.00

Product description

This is the 9th edition of the work, corrected and improved by Charles Thomson. Volume 1, 'Italiana ed Inglese', translates Italian into English and volume 2 translates English into Italian. Each volume begins with a comprehensive explanation of grammar. The books have noticeable rubbing wear to the covers, with surface loss to corners and spine ends; the soft leather covering on the spines is worn, and on volume 1 has split in two sections on the left side, approx. 4 cm at the top, and approx. 13 cm at the bottom; the lower section has separated from the binding underneath and is hinged on the right. The text block edges are browned, with dust soiling to the top. Front and rear end papers are tanned with a little light soiling and a few foxing spots; at the front are some light marks where pencil notes have been erased. Inside pages are clean and the binding is sound.
