The book title continues: "Embracing all the Latest Discoveries and Changes in Boundaries. Alphabetical Index of 50,000 Names, and A Comprehensive and Descriptive Gazetteer of the World." Although there is no publication date evident, there is a presentation book-plate on the front free end paper dated 1911. The decorative plate, recording the presentation by St Mary's U.F. Church, Govan Cross, Men's Own Book Fund, is numbered 46. The name of the recipient has mostly been erased and another owner's name is written in faint pencil an the top. In addition to maps of countries, the contents include Astronomical Diagrams, Ocean Currents, Distribution of Mankind, Prevailing Religions and Comparative Density of Population. The book's green covers have noticeable soiling and scrub marks; spine ends are bumped and worn; corners are bumped and have surface loss on edges up to approx. 3 cm. Foxing to end papers and a few front and rear leaves; the edges of the gazetteer pages are browned but the map pages are clean apart from occasional light soiling marks. There are two page breaks between pages 7 & 8 and 16 & 17 exposing webbing and slightly loosening the spine.
