This is a bound volume of the 12 issues of Trains Illustrated published in 1951. Trains Illustrated was later to become Modern Railways, still published today. Our illustration shows the front cover of one issue and the rear cover of the preceeding one.The volume is bound in blue cloth with gilt lettering. The front cover has the title 'Trains Illustrated', and lower down is the name Robin E. Fisher, possibly the name of the customer for whom the book was bound. Loose inside is a compliments slip from the publisher. The book cover has areas of discolouration on the front and has surface wear to all corners, edges and spine ends. The pages in the second half of the book are tanned around the edges and there are some patches of foxing on the last two pages. The book is profusely illustrated with b/w photographs of engines and trains and will be of particular interest to railway enthusiasts.
