Buddhist Studies in Honour of Walpola Rahula

£34.99

Product description

Two contrasting themes run through this volume, produced by scholars from many lands and trained in various disciplines, in honour of the contribution of Walpola Rahula to Buddhist Studies. The first is a further exploration of the field in which Walpola Rahula has been specially prominent: various Buddhist concepts and trends in their interpretation. The second, equally close to Walpola Rahula's interests, will be found in essays from such areas as philosophy, sociology, anthropology and politics, reflecting the range represented by contributors to this Festschrift. Both must surely appeal to those concerned with Buddhism as a living religion and its impact on ancient and modern societies. The whole makes an attractive volume for the specialist as well as the student.

Although the text block is slightly toning with age, it is tight, the matt dust jacket has only a small mark on the lower front, the profuse text is clear upon clean text pages. On the whole in extremely very good condition.
