About this item
Maurice Wiles was the long-standing Regius Professor of Divinity at Oxford. His Bampton Lectures of '86 are reproduced here almost exactly as they were delivered at the time. Professor Miles poses some crucial questions about some fundamental concepts of God, and His place in our lives. In particular he discusses whether God intervenes in the world, and how influential prayer is in relation to the divine. He goes on to consider the following topics : the origin of evil, Providence in public life, Providence in personal life, God's action in Christ, and finally God's action in us.
