The Life of Jesus for Young People

£14.99

Product description

Published in 1869, this is a retelling of the life of Jesus with many references to chapters and verses from the Bible. It has been illustrated with delicate engravings, some being pictures of events, some patterns and some chapter heads and capital letter adornments. There is also a subtly tinted frontispiece of The Good Samaritan. Bound in green with a gilt and black design embossed on the spine, and a simple blind stamped design on the back, also a rich gilt and black embossed front board. Apart from bumps to head and foot of the spine and moderate scuffing on the edges of the boards, this book is in remarkably good condition for its age. Although the boards are loosening from the block at the end papers, exposing some of the webbing, and the end papers are a little faded and mottled in places, text pages are only very minimally age toned, text block edges remain bright gilt, all text is clear and the illustrations are finely detailed.
