Brown boards with patches of wear and scuffing at edges and corners. The colour has faded in the most worn patches. There is gilt titling to the spine, over which a protective plastic cover has been placed and a small embossed decorative panel on the front board. The pages are rough - edged and unevenly cut with some tanning in places and there is slight loosening from the binding. Page edges have deeper tanning and there is foxing to the end and the title pages. there is a frontispiece illustration with protective tissue, but pages are spotted. There are a few pencil marks at the margins.
