The First International Symposium of GLA (ɣ-linolenic acid) was held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the American Oil Chemists' Society in San Antonio, Texas, May 7th -11th, 1995. This monograph represents the record of that symoposium. The book is divided into seven major areas: Source and Biosynthesis, Absorption and Metabolism, Inflammation and Immune Response, Cardiovascular Disease and Hypertension Development, Diabetes and Cancer, and Regulatory Status.
