Brambles of the British Isles

£60.00

Product description

This is an account of Brambles found growing wild in the British Isles, it is not however a complete record. The author states that the work is based on a prolonged and detailed study of WCR Watson's Handbook of the Rubi of Great Britain and Ireland, which had been published posthumously in 1958.
The authors set about checking the account of the plants detailed but found often that they were wrongly identified and although having found Watson to be a good field botanist it found however, when it came to comparing specimens in the herbarium, his judgement his judgement was not always reliable.
The present book includes all the British and Irish species for which names have been validly [published to the autumn of 1987
