£29.99

Product description

The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Parkville, Australia, 1975, first edition thus, hardback, no dust jacket, 4to, line drawings, charts and tables.

This is part of a major update of an earlier study entitled the "Geology of Australian Ore Deposits". The update was published in four volumes covering metals, coal, petroleum and industrial minerals and rocks of which this is the second. This edition was the third addressing the topic that had been published by the Institute and followed earlier editions published in 1953 and 1965. However, it had been been greatly expanded to cover all mineral deposits and includes Papua New Guinea.

Very good condition. Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering and decoration to front and spine. There is rubbing to extremities and the tail of the spine is bumped. There are a few white marks to the front and rear (see photos). Pages are clean and undamaged with bright print. Binding is sound. Writing on the front free endpaper records the book as a gift with the donor's name also appearing on the title page (see photos).

We are a specialist shop nestled in the heart of Jesmond, a lovely residential area of Newcastle Upon Tyne. We opened in July 2010 and have on offer 5,000 books, 2,000 records, CDs and games as well as sheet music, cards and stationery within the shop. Our shop has high ceilings and a nice, bright and airy feel. We are gaining a very good reputation in the Rare and Collectable books and vinyl community, but also do a roaring trade in contemporary fiction and modern non-fiction. We also organise live music and book events and aim to be a hub of culture in this wonderfully tight-knit community.
