A scientific treatise for students or keen amateurs possessing a general knowledge of electricity and magnetism on an elementary and intermediate basis. This book has 9 chapters including, field equations, stress and energy, electrostatic and magnetostatic fields, plane waves, cylindrical waves, spherical waves, radiation, and boundary-value problems. Bound in light brown cloth with an embossed title panel on the front and gilt titles in a green panel on the spine. An ex-library copy, it has a classification number in black ink written at the base of the spine, and the usual library stamps inside, plus, on the front end papers, residue where the ticket pocket and borrowing list were attached. Inside pages appear unmarked except for occasional library stamps. The book covers have darkened towards a green colour on the front and back and have a few light general marks. Corners, and the bumped spine ends, have surface rubbing wear and the tanned text block edges have some light dust soiling.
