Ferromagnetic Materials volume 3 / edited by E. P. Wohlfarth

£19.99

Product description

Subtitle: A handbook on the properties of magnetically ordered substances. Publication date: 1982. Condition: Very good. The dust jacket is somewhat worn, with edge wear including some tears, mostly fairly minor except for a 2.5 cm tear in the middle of the top of the back, but otherwise in very good condition. Internally the book is in very good condition - clean, tight and unmarked. Content: "This Handbook will be the most comprehensive work to date on the subject of ferromagnetic materials. It is intended as a work of reference as well as a textbook, and aims to encompass the achievements both of earlier compilations of tables and of earlier monographs. The work will eventually consist of 4 volumes. The articles (about 32 in total are planned) are written by leading authorities active in research and development. Each article concentrates on a description of material properties in graphical and tabular form, discussed in a broad background of the physics, chemistry, metallurgy, structure, and, to a lesser extent, engineering aspects of these properties. This impressive work is intended to replace the classical and monumental work on Ferromagnetism by Bozorth, published some 30 years ago. As such, it will be of great value to industrial researchers and technologists. University departments of Pure and Applied Physics, Chemistry, Metallurgy, and Electrical Enginering will also find this Handbook extremely useful." Chapters:- 1. Magnetism and Magnetic Materials: Historical Developments and Present Role in Industry and Technology U. ENZ 2. Permanent Magnets; Theory H. ZIJLSTRA 3. The Structure and Properties of Alnico Permanent Magnet Alloys R. A. McCurrie 4. Oxide Spinels S. KRUPICKA and P. NOVAK 5. Fundamental Properties of Hexagonal Ferrites with Magnetoplumbite Structure H. KOJIMA 6. Properties of Ferroxplana-Type Hexagonal Ferrites M. SUGIMOTO 7. Hard Ferrites and Plastoferrites H. STABLEIN 8. Sulphospinels R. P. VAN STAPELE 9. Transport Properties of Ferromagnets I. A. CAMPBELL and A. FERT
