£19.99

Product description

Published in 1963 by the McGraw-Hill Book Company. Sub-titled: 'An Introduction to the Study of How and Where Animals and Plants Lived in the Past' . Includes graphs, diagrams and other figures that support the text, together with a comprehensive bibliography and index.

An academic book on Paleoecology. From the Preface: "The object of this book is to show how we can study fossils as once-living thjings and not simply as dry lumps of stone in a museum."

This is an association copy, previously owned by Martin D Brasier, an English palaeobiologist and astrobiologist known for his conceptual analysis of microfossils and evolution in the Precambrian and Cambrian. He was Professor of Palaeobiology at the University of Oxford and Emeritus Fellow of St Edmund Hall. His research critically examined the context and character of the early fossil record.

In generally very good condition, however there is no dust jacket. Martin Brasier's name is written on the front end paper and there is a line of writing underneath.
