"J.A.Bancroft compiled data for an historical narrative as a record of mineral exploration and mining in Northern Rhodesia.He had the intimate knowledge of his subject consistent with being an explorer by nature and an omnivorous reader of historical works,particularly the journals ,reports and accounts of travel and exploration in Africa.This was his hobby during the years 1927 to 1940 when he was personally and closely concerned with mineral exploration in the Rhodesian,Nyasa land and Bechuanaland. In that period he contributed materially to the present economy of Northern Rhodesia and saw one part of the Territory rise from a small ,almost unknown field to one of the world's major producers of copper."

Book in good condition with clean pages throughout and securely bound. Scuff marks to the red boards, name written on inner page.Printed in 1961.
