Physical Properties of Crystals:Their Representation by Tensors and Matrices

£24.99

Product description

Oxford University Press, London, 1967, third reprint, hardback, no d/w, 8vo, pp xv + 322
The purpose of this textbook is to formulate the physical properties of crystals systematically in tensor notation - to explain what the tensors are and how they are used. The book is not concerned with the explanation of particular crystal properties in terms of structure; it aims rather at a unified presentation of the tensor properties in terms of two themes: the common mathematical basis of the properties and the thermodynamical relations between them.
Very good condition. Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering and designs to spine. Boards are clean and undamaged except for some minor bumping to the tail of the spine. Pages are clean and text is bright. Binding is tight. Ownership inscription on the front free endpaper

Oxfam Books & Music Jesmond

We are a specialist shop nestled in the heart of Jesmond, a lovely residential area of Newcastle Upon Tyne. We opened in July 2010 and have on offer 5,000 books, 2,000 records, CDs and games as well as sheet music, cards and stationery within the shop. Our shop has high ceilings and a nice, bright and airy feel. We are gaining a very good reputation in the Rare and Collectable books and vinyl community, but also do a roaring trade in contemporary fiction and modern non-fiction. We also organise live music and book events and aim to be a hub of culture in this wonderfully tight-knit community.
