The Death of Grass by John Christopher 1st edition with dustjacket 1956 Michael Joseph

£65.00

Product description

Publisher: Michael Joseph, 1956. First edition hardback with rare unclipped dustjacket. A Science Fiction classic 1st edition. Cover, in black cloth boards is in good condition. Book is in good condition with just a couple of minor marks, no inscriptions, no library markings or stamps, some light browning to top edge of page block. Dustjacket, which is unclipped, is in fair condition with some creasing, browning and shelf wear at top edge, however, there is a lending library paper label pasted onto front lower half as can be seen in the photos. Also the front and back flaps have been pasted to the inside of the cover (although front, back and spine are free/unpasted), no doubt to avoid the DJ and book being separated during its lending library period. It may be possible with the right expertise and care to remove the label from the front without damage but that is something the buyer must decide for themselves. Likewise with the pasted down flaps. The price asked fully reflects these issues.
