Consciousness, Emotional Self-Regulation and the Brain /edited by Mario Beauregard

£39.99

Product description

From the series "Advances in Consciousness Research". Publication date: 2004. Condition: Very good. The cover is in very good condition, with little sign of wear except at the corners. Internally there is much use of a yellow highlighter pen, and a few marginal notes - otherwise the book is in very good condition - clean and tight. Content: During the 1990s, the study of emotional self-regulation blossomed in a variety of sub-disciplines belonging to either psychology (developmental, clinical) or neuroscience (cognitive and affective neurosciences). This emerging domain currently attracts several innovatory researchers and has become a major field of scientific inquiry. This book aims to present theoretical and developmental perspectives about emotional self-regulation (and dysregulation), and to provide cutting-edge information with regard to the neural basis of conscious emotional experience and emotional self-regulation. Another major goal of this book is to expound theoretical models susceptible of explaining how healthy individuals are capable of consciously and voluntarily modifying the neural activity underlying emotional processes and states.
