Problems in Philosophy: The Limits of Inquiry

£8.99

Product description

It is common to feel that philosophical questions possess a special kind of difficulty and that this is reasonable for the lack of steady progress characteristic of philosophy. This book offers a theory that grounds philosophical difficulty in the natural structure of the human mind, so that there is no objective correlate for the difficulty we experience when trying to solve philosophical problems. It contains general metaphilosophical discussion of reason and truth, as well as treatments of the central topics in philosophy - consciousness, the self, meaning, free will, the a priori, knowledge. The book can be used as an introductory text although it is by no means impartial in its approach.

The book is in very good condition. Pages clean and unmarked with no inscriptions. Slight creasing to spine.

Oxfam Books & Music Jesmond

We are a specialist shop nestled in the heart of Jesmond, a lovely residential area of Newcastle Upon Tyne. We opened in July 2010 and have on offer 5,000 books, 2,000 records, CDs and games as well as sheet music, cards and stationery within the shop. Our shop has high ceilings and a nice, bright and airy feel. We are gaining a very good reputation in the Rare and Collectable books and vinyl community, but also do a roaring trade in contemporary fiction and modern non-fiction. We also organise live music and book events and aim to be a hub of culture in this wonderfully tight-knit community.
