Battling with sea monsters

£150.00

Product description

Published Duckworth, London undated but believed First Edition 1937. Blue cloth book with gold titles. The book has a book plate 'Ex Biblioteca piscatoria Ohlsoni' referring to Bokhandlare E Ohlsson. Interestingly there is a document referring to a radio? from A-B Radio Mekano dated 23/12/1939.
Book in very good condition with bumping to corners and spine ends. Internally clean binding solid. DJ grubby and with a faded spine. It is substantially complete but has some losses and 4 tears of up to 50mm.
Mitchell-Hedges (1882-1959) was an English adventurer, traveller and writer most famous for his discovery of the famous but dubious Crystal Skull in Belize. He had a radio show in America for some years narrating his exploits.
This book takes us with M-H and his secretary and entourage on a journey around Central and South America and includes many tales of big game fishing.
