Bird Observatory and Field Study Centre Report for 1949

£34.99

Product description

Professionally printed, this is the first ever report of the Bird Observatory and Field Study Centre at Gibralter Point, which was instated in 1948 and still exists today.
The pamphlet contains an interesting foreword and introduction covering the history of the setting up of the reserve, then a Bird Report with details of species observed and resident on the reserve, also a short survey of the vegetation. It concludes with a brief section on proposed future work.
The cover of pale buff with green lettering and vignette shows moderate handling wear, there are rust marks around the staples at the centre and on the spine. However, all text pages are clean with clear text, there is one b/w photograph and one map, both of which are in excellent condition.

A fascinating rarity.
