Dream Ships

£39.99

Product description

Maurice Griffiths, the late UK yacht designer of affordable, smaller, practical cruising sailboats, mostly pre-fibreglass, describes a number of wonderful, seaworthy, often shallow draft craft in this book. Not the latest Ameri-Euro megabucks cruising boat but eminently practical boats, usually made of wood, the type that, in his day, made you want to take up sailing just so you could explore the islands, creeks, and other off-the-beaten-channel places around the coasts of any island, continent, even if far away, or across an ocean.
Hard backed book without a dust jacket, the lettering on the spine almost totally worn away, and bumped around corners, edges and spine ends.
Tight block, clear text, peppered with delightful b/w plans, diagrams, sketches and occasional photograph of the crafts described.
Illustration shown is the frontispiece, "Wild Lone II".
