Nimrod, Ramrod, Fishing-Rod and Nature Tales

£29.99

Product description

This hardcover book is in very good condition overall. There is a gilded title on the front and spine of the cover, and the cover overall is without major issue. There is some minor wear around the edges and corners of the cover. There is some noticeable foxing on the inside cover both front and back, as well as some major staining on the first and last empty pages of the book. The foxing continues to the edges of the pages, noticeable when the book is closed, but for the most part does not appear to extend into the pages inside. While there may be some individual pages with minor issues, the pages of the book are in very good condition overall. The book is a first edition published in 1909, written by J. Whitaker.

'These chapters are chosen from numbers I have from time to time written. They are the result of many outings in good old Britain, in which days I have shot or fished, or seen Nature in a natural ; days of delight to be remembered ; red-letter days to be marked with a white stone ; days in which I have caught a big trout or seen a rare bird ; have killed a right and left at driven Partridges (not often) ; or have noticed something of interest ; tramps over the moors ; corners at Pheasants where I did not tear them down ; but nevertheless, all of interest, all having a charm.'
