Sea Scouting and Seamanship for Boys by W. Baden-Powell, K. G.

£19.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

This handbook was first written by Warrington Baden-Powell, elder brother of Robert, in 1910, but this is a later edition printed in 1936.
W Baden-Powell had a strong interest in boats and sailing and was asked by Robert Baden-Powell to help with setting up the first specialist group within the Boy Scouts organisation.
The book contains chapters on the history of ships including pirates and buccaneers, also on useful topics to be studied by the scouts such as Knots and Ropes and Swimming and Rescue. The volume has blue card covers with dark blue lettering and diagram of a sailing dinghy on the front. The spine and edges are worn with a small closed tear on the bottom fore edge of the spine, the cover is moderately age soiled. Text block edges are similarly age toned and a little foxed, however all text is clear, as are the numerous b/w photographs, diagrams and charming illustrations.
