In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Yorkshiremen T.E.Pritt, and Edmonds and Lee added considerably to the soft-hackle fly tradition. Their books are considered by angling historians to be the combined fountainhead of modern soft-hackle fly tradition. These two sources have been investigated and thoroughly reviewed by the author of this book. All of their patterns are listed and described. Included are photographic copies of 11 of the hand-coloured plates from Pritt and a plate from Edmonds and Lee. The book is in Very Good+ condition with light shelf wear to the top and bottom of the spine. The Dust Jacket is in Good condition with shelf wear to the top and bottom of the spine, a minor loss to the top of the spine and a closed tear to the top edge of the front of the jacket. The jacket is not price-clipped. Inside there is a previous owners name to the inside of the front board. The pages are clean and tight and all illustrations are present. 125pp.
