Uphill Into the Breeze

£50.00

Product description

Subtitled as: "A club cricket miscellany." The book has green cloth-covered boards and spine with the book title, author's and publisher's names in gilt lettering on the spine. The book has no bumping to the corners nor any shelf wear. The hinges are in very good condition. The pages are well cut and tightly bound to the spine. The pages show some slight discolouration to their edges. The dust jacket is in very good condition with only some slight rubbing to its top and bottom edges. The jacket is green and displays the book title on the front with letters made from pictures of cricket bats, stumps and bails. There are also friezes at the top and bottom of the front cover made from pictures of stumps and cricket balls. The jacket's rear cover shows text of the book's summary with its price which has not been clipped. The jacket also shows some brown discolouration on its edges and on the reverse side close to the edges. The white flaps of the jacket also show some brown discolouration. The book has several pencil drawings of cricketing scenes. The book and jacket have the faint smell of tobacco probably from the book having been stored and used in a room where smoking takes place. The brown discolourations noted elsewhere in this description are likely to be due to tobacco staining. The book has been signed on the front free endpaper in faint ink by the author, Derek Underwood with a date of May '84.
