Oxfam Loves Books

We love books. You love books. We are proud of our brilliant selection of books and we're good at selling them. Every month you buy £1.6m of donated books. We have over 40,000 books listed on our online store  and we have over 140 dedicated book stores across the UK. You can get involved by reading our blog, donating books, volunteering in your local shop or simply buying your next read.

We celebrate our love for books every summer during Bookfest with book signings, competitions, cinema screenings and children's story time, on-line promotions and at Hay Festival.

Donate when you're done

If you've finished the latest bestseller or got boxes of paperbacks you'll never read again, you can donate books directly to our shops during opening hours, or pop them into one of our donation banks at any time.

We have a donation drive each year and you generously donated over 400,000 books in three weeks in 2011. Unsold books are redistributed across the Oxfam shop network. And any that can't be sold are recycled or even made into cardboard boxes…nothing is wasted!

Fancy Volunteering?

We're always on the lookout for book-loving volunteers. Share your passion for books and help fight poverty while you're at it. Fill in a form or go to your local Oxfam store to find out more. Full training is provided.

Every book volunteer contributes something special, and together they've raised millions and turned Oxfam into Europe's largest second-hand bookseller.
