Bibliography Of East European Travel Writing On Europe

£29.99

Product description

This hardcover book is in very good condition overall. The cover of the book appears to have some minor wear on some corners, which are the only issues it has. The jacket has a very small tear where it has worn through one of the corners, but that appears to be the only issue it has, along with some very minor markings in a couple of places. The edges of the pages do have some dirt on them. It is particularly noticeable when the book is closed, but while it is the biggest issue the book has, it is not major or widespread throughout the book. The inside of the pages are in very good condition and appear to be without issue.

The book describes itself as the following:
'The bibliography volume of the three-volume East Looks West collates travel writing published in book form by east Europeans travelling in Europe from ca 1550 to 2000. These textes exist in surprisingly large numbers, and include writings of high literary quality as well as of historical interest, but they have been relatively little studied as a genre... This is intended as a fundamental research tool, collecting together travel writings within each national/linguistic tradition, and enabling comparative analysis of such material.'
