Himalaya

£29.99

Product description

Eric Valli is a renowned photographer who spent many years living in the Himalayas and became fascinated, not only by the landscapes, but also by the people and their lifestyle. This collection contains 200 full colour images, mostly his photos, but also a few drawings by Tensing Norbu.

The text (in English) is by Valli and Anne de Salle, an anthropologist who spent ten years in the area.

A large 29 x 36 cm. quality hardback; quite a few of the images are across two pages.

The study is divided into various topics:
The Himalaya, an overview.
Sea Fossil on the Summit.
Land of Refuge.
Many tribes, one nation.
Literature with a taste of ashes.
Great Men; Variations on a Theme.
Trans-Himalayan Trade.
Green Forest, Nepal's Wealth.
Jiwan, or the Life of a disillusioned Mountain Man.
Nepal and the West.

An American publication, appears to be the first in English. With jacket. A very clean copy. The jacket has a few light scratches, and some edge curling, otherwise all is very clean.

Extra postage due to size and weight.
