New York On Five Dollars A Day

£9.99

Product description

Darton, Longman & Todd LTD, 1960. Small paperback in good condition. British edition of "a guide to the inexpensive hotels, restaurants, night-spots, theatres, sights of Manhattan". Fascinating and historically valuable period piece. Features chapters such as "Finding a budget hotel", "Eating cheaply and well" and "Do-it-yourself tours". To the rear there is a short chapter for slightly the more affluent tourist called "New York on $10 dollars a day". Also includes a number of lovely hand-drawn maps as well as some great period design. The condition is generally good. The cover is rather weathered and the edges are stained but the binding is holding up well despite feeling a little fragile. The interior is bright although there some pencil notes in one or two places and an ink stain across one page.
