St. Kilda

£12.00

Product description

Norman Heathcote had the good fortune to visit St. Kilda in 1898 and to stay for the whole summer of 1899. In this account of his experiences he writes 'I have attempted to give my own impressions of anything concerning the island or its inhabitants but have avoided repeating what has already appeared in print. I have done my best to give a fair picture of this lonely isle and its people. I have dilated upon the charms of the scenery and the fascination of the mode of life but I trust that I have also laid on the difficulties and dangers of the place.'
