Printed for Henry Colburn, London. Half-Leather. Book Condition: Very Good Plus. 2nd Ed.. 2 volumes. Half-leather binding with marbled boards and titles in gilt to spine in very good plus condition. Spine embellished in gilt, with title "Chateaubriand's travels' on red leather in the second compartment. Front hinges very slightly loose, spine has minor rubbing. Boards a little soiled, corners bumped, with just slight edge wear. Text blocks in very good plus condition, tanning on front boards and ffeps from leather corners. Top edges a little grubby. A little foxing in text. Previous owner's name inscribed in black ink and dated 1822, on title-pages. Volume 1 has two black and white maps, one folding.The folding map has a crease of 13 cm and a tear of 12 cm. Includes appendices and index. Translated from the French by Frederic Shoberl.
