Volcanoes in Iceland

£34.99

Product description

This book presents as comprehensive an overview of volcanism in Iceland as was available at the end of the 20th century, bringing together information from earlier publications as well as from hundreds of scientific papers published in Icelandic or English during the century. While scholarly and erudite, it is presented in a form which will be accessible to those with no knowledge of geology, as well as being relevant to scientists or students of the subject.

Ari Trausti Guðmundsson (1948) is an Icelandic geologist, author, documentarian, broadcaster, journalist, lecturer, mountaineer and explorer. He worked as teacher, consultant and lecturer on earth science, environmental and tourism issues. He was variously a mountain guide, TV- weather reporter, media presenter and producer, has planned nature and science exhibitions in Iceland, Paris and London and written both non-fiction, fiction and poetry. He was a presidential candidate in 2012 and presently he is a member of Icelandic Parliament.

Our book is in excellent condition, the illustrated boards clean and unmarked, and showing no signs of shelf wear or use. Inside, the binding is firm and all pages clean and bright. The only small blemish is a faint blue mark at the top of the front cover (see photo), with an even fainter one at the bottom of the opposite free endpaper.
