Where do the dresses come from?

Some dresses reach us pre-loved from former brides who donate their dresses. But over 95% of our stock is donated, brand new, from designers and bridal shops, when they change their stock over at the end of the season. Many are ex-catwalk and are in mint condition.

How can Oxfam help me find the perfect dress?

If you're shopping online for your wedding dress, you can browse from a huge selection that is constantly updated. If you find the perfect dress, we will despatch it to you by courier within 3 working days and offer a 14-day no-quibble returns policy.

If you're visiting one of our specialist Bridal Departments, to make the most of your visit, please call the shop beforehand to make an appointment and feel free to ask questions about the sizes and styles available. When you visit, a trained assistant will be on hand to help you (with no hard sell!), and you will be able to view and try on the dresses in comfort. Some departments can also advise on alterations.

What else can Oxfam offer for my wedding?

As well as wedding dresses, we can help with accessories, shoes, bridesmaids' dresses and outfits for the mother of the bride.

How much do the dresses cost?

The average cost of an Oxfam wedding dress is around £250, and we aim to pitch our prices at about 30% of what you would pay on the high street. Some dresses originally cost £1000 or more, so you can buy the dress of your dreams for much less than you would expect.

How can I donate a wedding dress?

If you are one of many generous brides who would like their wedding dress to have another life after their own special day, please consider donating it to Oxfam. Not only do your donations give another bride the opportunity to wear a fabulous dress that they might otherwise be unable to buy, the money raised by the sale really can make a difference to people living in poverty.

If you live near one of our Bridal Departments, give them a call to arrange dropping off your dress. Or you can call: 0300 2001 333; or email us to discuss alternative arrangements.

Here's what one of our dress donors had to say:

I know how difficult it is to find larger sizes to try on and so after my lovely day I thought about giving my dress to Oxfam. At first I couldn't bear the thought but after wondering where I would keep it and what would eventually happen to it, I decided to give it away. I had a lovely thank you letter and I am happy knowing that it has raised good money for their essential work.
