Vintage size bust 32" white wedding dress, veil and head dress

£150.00

Product description

This vintage early 1970's wedding dress and accessories are from Clarks & Co., wedding gown specialists, of Bristol. With typical '70's styling, the dress is empire line with a fitted, white guipure lace covered bodice. Made in white grosgrain type fabric, it has long, narrow sleeves edged with a 2" band of lace at the cuff and is high necked with a 1.5" band at the throat. Demure and elegant, the slightly A-line skirt is narrow at the front and flows into a full chapel train. The back of the bodice is lower and shaped to the waist where the train is softly gathered and flows out beautifully, making a wonderful impression as you walk down the aisle, especially if worn covered with the accompanying veil. The gown is fastened with a long zip at the back and is in very good condition although the underside of the train is marked from trailing on the ground. There is no fancy underskirt just a practical lining of fibrous stiffening material. The dress comes with it's original veil which is made of white net edged with 1" circular lace motifs. 10 feet long to cover the train, it also has a shorter trimmed shoulder length veil and a plain veil wear over the face. These are attached with a satin ribbon to a comb which fits into the hair which will be covered by the head dress. Made by Bridal Wear by Melles, and still with the original tag priced at £4.75, it is a confection of white fabric flowers and leaves on a white satin thread covered wire band, the ends finished with pearl pear drop shapes, which would be worn onto the face. The ensemble comes in the original boxes and tissue paper with the makers label (Peterson Maid Ltd.) and Clarks labels still in place.
