We asked for books; you delivered!
Oxfam's national Book Donation Drive is a run away success!

You've done it!!! Three weeks ago Oxfam launched it's first ever national book donation drive, with the ambitious target of collecting more than 500,000 books in 21 days! Supporters and book fans have been donating books in droves at Oxfam shops throughout the UK.
Oxfam also collected an incredible 45,000 at the Hay Festival between 21 - 31 May.
It’s was a daunting target but big ideas change the world and Oxfam likes to aim high!
We are delighted to announce that due to the inspiring generosity of all who donated we have met and exceeded our target! The final tally for the 21 days topped 3/4 of a million books.
The money raised through the sale of the 750,000 books could be as much as £1.2 million - enough to fund education programmes for more than 9,500 children orphaned by HIV and AIDS in Zambia or to ensure safe water for over 1.5 million people.
Thank you all - together we can make a real difference to many lives - please keep donating!
