Well, the festivities are over for another year – but what a festival it’s been! The Oxfam Studio played host to some awesome speakers.

As well as the authors and celebrities, book lovers from around the world came to browse Oxfam’s second-hand book stall. Over the week we sold an astonishing £17,205.89 worth of books. And in case you're wondering whether we’re in danger of running out of books, never fear – visitors to Hay donated thousands of books during the festival, filling our container and helping to ensure that the shelves remain stacked.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who bought a second-hand book, made a donation, or just called by for a chat. And thanks in particular to the Hay Festival team for inviting us to pitch up.

Oxfam was the official charity partner to the Guardian Hay Festival 2009. You can read more about the festival on the Talking Books blog.
