Volunteer at an Oxfam shop

Volunteer Jamie Morrow. "You get a really interesting mix of people coming in: balding middle-aged men, fashionable women wanting bargains, rugby boys wanting dresses! It’s fun to work here because of the other volunteers too – people of all ages. I meet some really great people." Photo: Howard Davies/Oxfam

Get booked in
If you’re into books, we know you’ll be just a little bit excited about the prospect of volunteering in one of our bookshops.
We need book-lovers who are happy to wear their hearts on their sleeves. Spread the word.

Best sellers
There are lots of things you can do: sorting, shelving, pricing, and the best bit – sharing your enthusiasm for books with our customers and making a sale into the bargain (we can hear the tills ringing now). So if you’ve got time to spare (between books that is), and you want to indulge your passion, come join us. And because all our books are donated, you never know what you’ll find – a rare first edition worth thousands, if you’re lucky.

How to get involved
Simply drop into your local Oxfam bookshop for a chat and if you're interested, fill in one of our application forms. Download your volunteer form here.
