Sustain Me!

For 2009 Oxfam wants sustainable fashion to become a part of every stylish girl’s fashion wardrobe.

World-renowned fashion photographer Rankin collaborated with some of the biggest talents in the entertainment industry ranging from fashion, music and film to create a series of fashion-forward imagery.

Leading stylist Katie Shillingford restyled clothing handpicked from Oxfam’s recycling plant Wastesaver to produce a series of distinct looks proving that sustainable clothing can be both stylish and trend led. She describes the concept behind each of the images:
Katie
...on Natalie Imbruglia:
The combination of contrasting lace, patent leather and corsetry creates a timeless, body-conscious and sexy silhouette.
..on Cat Deeley:
On Cat, this fun, casual answer to Rodeo mixes customised denim, retro red leather and a classic vintage tee.

...on Heidi Klum:
Originally a utilitarian garment, the jumpsuit hit fashion in the 60s and has since been a staple in high fashion.
..on Jamie Winstone:
In homage to Madonna- stone washed denim, leather and layered accessories create a more directional look that celebrates customization

...on Jourdan Dunn:
Mixing fashion's recent trend for English Gentry with Punk’s chosen blend of Tartan and black leather, a fun, current look is born.
