Launch Party: Behind-the-scenes
In the heart of Camden, an Oxfam Shop embellished with handcrafted wallpaper, chequerboard floor tiles and antler hanging rails played host to the Oxfam DIY launch party. Stuffed with vintage, retro, well-loved high street and brand new donations, this one-stop customising shop became a hive of activity as press, photographers and camera crew mingled with guests of Oxfam and Mrs Jones aka Fee Doran, the incredible DIY mastermind.
Dancing girls and aloof boys paraded through the crowd to showcase the hugely awaited Mrs Jones DIY collection to a remix of knees-up-mother-brown. The curtain call and collection close was complete with an incredibly powerful reminder of the reason everyone was there: to support Oxfam’s global initiatives to fight poverty. And with that, the room dissolved into a mass dressing room as generation DIY experimented with retro shades, flat caps and red silk D&G knickers. Shopping has never felt so good.
