To make your drawstring waist, snip two small holes in the waistband (5cm apart and fairly central works best),

Measure a string or cord long enough to run all the way around the waistband with some left over, attach a safety pin to one end of the cord and use this to push the cord in through one hole and back out the other.

Cut off the T-shirt collar and stitch up the neck to complete the low-slung crotch of your hammer pants.

All done! And ready to customise with zips, spray paints, patch pockets…
