Grab an old pair of shoes, any type and material works. Cover the soles, shoe edges and heels in masking tape.

Lay out some newspaper to protect your carpet and open some windows! (Spraying outside only works if there is no wind!)

Pick up a can of spray paint in a colour of your choice and shake can well, holding at least 8 inches away from shoes/ trainers/ boots. Spray your shoes with a thin coat.

Wait 10 minutes for this to dry and then apply again for a deeper colour. If you’re feeling adventurous try cutting out some stencils or covering all of your shoes except for go faster stripes. Anything that isn’t covered will be the new paint colour when you remove the tape!

When all sprayed up, give a final coat of spray varnish. As a finishing touch, why not add some brightly coloured laces or use strips of fabric or ribbons.
