Myths abound about HIV and AIDS, and many people are so fearful of the stigma attached to the disease that they don’t seek help. So this gift is all about dispelling the myths, highlighting the stigma, and ending discrimination. Here in South Africa, Oxfam’s partner organisation Pheko Ka Kopanelo marked AIDS Day 2006 with a very public rally to do just that, and to commemorate those who have already lost their lives to AIDS.
